Sefanie Frease
Analyst, Office of the Prosecutor, ICTY (1994-2000)
Stefanie Frease was assigned to the Srebrenica investigation by the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP), ICTY, in July 1995, a week after the massacres began. For the next five years, she performed numerous tasks, including extensive field work, for the team in order to reconstruct the actions of the Bosnian Serb military and political leadership during the week when thousands of Bosnian Muslim men and boys were murdered. Ms Frease testified in several ICTY trials on matters related to the intercepted BSA communication.

From 2000 to 2005 she worked for the Coalition for International Justice, a non-profit organization that supported the work of various international courts and tribunals. She rejoined the OTP in 2006 and worked at the Tribunal’s Belgrade office. Then she moved to South Sudan for two years implementing a USAID-funded program in anticipation of the region’s referendum for independence.

Frease is a graduate of the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies, Seattle, and holds a master's degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, New York, NY.
